Entry Level Projector
I am new to the golf simulator world. I have an optishot set up in the garage with a net and hitting mat. I am looking for an entry level projector, basically the cheapest I can get away with. I will only be using it for the optishot and if needed I can turn the lights off completely while using it (no windows in the garage). The ceilings are about 2.75m high.
Here is a rough diagram of my setup:
Thanks.

Not sure whether this projector fits your "entry level" description, but I just ordered this one:
http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-X306ST.htm
It's "short throw" giving you a big picture from a very short projector set-up distance. See if it fits your requirements. Also bear in mind that there is a wide screen version of this same projector - it is the Optoma W306ST.
I would not go with less resolution than 1024 x 728 (WGA) even though there are cheaper projectors with less resolution available.
I can't give you any more info from a real world experience as I'm still waiting for delivery!
