Best ProTee courses
I thought I'd start a new thread to discuss the "Best" Protee course, realizing of course that "Best" can be defined in any number of ways.

Tis true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe we should change it to best 3 courses as it is difficult to pick just one.
My selection:
Heron Pointe - difficult course with astounding graphics, especially the lighting effects
Augusta - hard to pass on this one
Monteray Glass - love the tall trees and doglegs

ProTee has Augusta National? Can anyone take a screenshot of the 12th, 13th or 16th green? PLease?

I like Augusta. There is a YouTube link of Augusta showing some holes.

Montour Heights. Great Pete Dye design with lots of elevation changes
Dallas Ntl... Lots of fun but I recommend playing from the 6200 yard tees to help keep the ball in play. (same goes for Monterey Bay)
Ardmore.... This is a recreation of Merion East....awesome course that has everything except the wicker basket flags
Olympic. Tough course
Chestnut Plain... If you can hit the fairways on this course fairways on every other course will seem 100 yards wide
Cog Hill. Classic layout
Azalea....Please PT, release the version that allows me to play this course at something under 7400 yards.
Broken Tree.... Tough challenge
Canterbury GC. Great course in Cleveland that has hosted several majors
Muirfield Village. Great to finally be able to play my hometown course that I live 2 miles from.
I am liking most of the new courses released this year and last year, they seem much more refined with better textures and details

Sorry, I guess that was a few more than my top 3. More like my favorite 10.

Good list Craig, yes it certainly would be nice if Azalea could be played at a shorter yardage. Is there a Spyglass Hill available?

Yes, Monterey Glass that Psace listed is actually Spyglass.

I havent played all of em yet- but so far I like all 7 ive played- - but the one s that stuck out the most were
spyglass ( I am partial to it though) {great rendition}
The Hollow (Always liked park courses)
and a new one- I think its set in Minnesota quarry ridge or rocks? contoured fairways a good layout for a leisure round.
maybe you should have top 3real courses top 3 fictional?
Muirfield vil is a nice- one of my favorites of all time too-Jack is a devious designer.

Hey Jeff - I think I speak for a lot of people in the simulator community when I say thank you for all the work you've put into the various courses over the years. I know it's a strange setup with redchain and courses created by hobbyists coming over to the simulators...but we've been lucky to play some of the fine courses you've created. This looks like another great one! Thanks again.
I haven't been in contact with Dean for ages now (maybe 2 years ago?) but do you know if redchain dropped their next-gen software project? It was discussed a lot a couple years back and then...nothing.

Jeff- I would also like to thank you for your work. Being from MN it is nice to play a course on my simulator that I have actually played before. If I am not mistaken, this looks like a certain, very prestigious country club that is very close to a Minneapolis Muni course? Also any plans to do Willingers? That is my home club and it would be awesome to have on the sim.

I'm curious is there a way to change the names in the Protee oftware so the courses have their real names, for example to change Azalea to Augusta National? Also, is there a Pinehurst # 2?

Yes you can changed the name by changing the file name. But you will create an online mismatch.
Best is to keep the original name and make a copy of the file with the name you want.
If you host a game you need to select the original name.

I'm a new Protee user, and I was wondering how and when new courses get released? Do you have to pay for them.
Have only played 4 full rounds so far but, was a fan of Fairmont Le Manoir - Richelieu, and Bro Balsta in Sweden, both pleasant to the eye and quite playable.

Does ProTee still offer Augusta, Pebble Beach, etc...? I know they disappeared from Foresight rather quickly, and they alone would make buying the ProTee software package worth while.

It sure would be nice to play Augusta from the members tees though. Any word on new courses for this year? Btw does anyone else have problems loading The Country Club of Charleston or is it just me?
