New simulator - things to consider

I am currently in the final stages of deciding upon what simulator works best for my particular situation, and I'm looking at the advantages and disadvantages of various systems. I want to stay away from and IR system and I will be doing my own flooring, screen, projector, hitting mat, and wall coverings, so I'm really looking for the guts of a system together with hardware. I believe the key decision criteria for myself would be as follows:


- Accuracy (i.e. realism)
- Allows for righty/lefty play
- Video or picture quality
- Course availability and cost
- Hardware cost,
- Software cost, and
- ability to serve as a home theatre.


If I've left anything out please let me know.


Currently I'm considering About Golf, HD Golf, Visual Sports and possibly the GC2 (right lefty being the issue there).


It would be great to hear everyone's comments regarding the various systems.

Take Visual Sports off your list. The accuracy is really poor. That is why they teamed up with Trugolf and now have a floor sensor to help with accuracy. They estimate and not measure spin.

Aboutgolf- great system but $40K plus
HD Golf- also $40K for setup
GC2- there are a lot of reviews of that.

I would wait and see what Protee comes out with in the very near future. Follow the thread

Ditto on the ProTee, particularly if you want seamless transition for left/right players.
