This play wouldn't be limited to just online play would it?

I did, but the driving ranges tend to be free. I would expect local play to be included just wanted to make sure so it was clear

It will be the same Protee play software that Protee owners use. So, you get all the courses and two ranges. Might be a pitching range also I think. Practice mode on all the courses. Offline and online play, drop ball anywhere, practice putting, etc...

Yes I have that version now and have it saved but I think I might make a disk with it as well. If enough of us keep a copy then we will always be able to share if needed. I can see how that could be an issue if you never kept the firmware saved some place as they only have the last one they did on the site to download.

That's a good idea. If they end up going that route you know they won't support you unless you are on the latest version of firmware. You would have to downgrade after getting support. They could also do things where downgrades would not be an option. I wouldn't consider this a show stopper but something to keep in mind.

Hey Vance, were you using a driver in this video? I assume the audio was the GC2? So, are you saying that the GC2 data was fairly close to the PT with regards to carry and distance?

It was close for the most part except for the driver. The GC2's calculated carry was usually 10 yards more than on the ProteePlay. This will be fixed for both GC2 and Protee users.

The 10 yards wasn't related to uphill terrain or wind was it Z?

Vance, the reason I asked was the audio was saying about 130 yards of carry, another said about 160 yards of carry........seems way light for your driver?? The audio said your swing speeds were high 80's and one was over 90.....the LA was strange too.......32 degrees for one? Just curious why there was such a a discrepancy......

I went back to the video and actually there were 2 additonal shots that the audio claimed 104/105mph chs, 16/19 degree LA, but the carry distances were only 140/143 yds........what gives with that??

That was the first video of the range. I was obviously using an iron. The Protee defaults to driver when you're on the range. No need to change it when using a gc2.

I didn't notice the 32 deg for the driver but noticed most of the drivers hit low on the screen and seemed to have a low LA. Z's carry was not long due to the lower LA but the roll out left him with not bad distance.
Also for the GC2 when you hear the audio of the stats, they are using the carry distance as it would be at sea level. So for me it's lower than what I would normally see for carry but when you play the course game you see longer carry numbers. So the GC2 may say 200 yd carry but in the game you would see 210 or 215 carry. The GC2 could have used an altitude setting so you could match your area.
Does the protee pick up backspin off the ball about the same as the GC2? If not that could also create a bit different carry.Last edited by SFR; 12-10-2013 at 09:19 PM.

The only data used for the simulation were the ones from the gc2. The Protee was unplugged. The Proteeplay calculations of driver carry, from using the gc2 data, is a little low. This is an easy fix. I'm only talking about carry and not total distance. We want this to be the save as the gc2's carry.

That makes sense then if just the GC2 was on and then that carry distance based on being at sea level, would be low. I think the GC2 software boosts those numbers when on the Range or Course.

I thought the numbers seemed low....did not know you were using a iron versus a driver.....
