Just some feedback. I understand that you have had some major soft/hardware upgrades in the past week. I can tell you from a user's perspective that the "new" site is extremely slow in loading new pages and searches. I believe you will need to have your techies take a look at what has changed and tune-up the site.

Of course as soon as I posted that it now seems to run at a crawl. It must be server loads and that fluctuates moment by moment.

Between about 8:00 and 9:00 this morning it was virtually unusable. Very slow. It's OK now. I called my ISP and they will monitor it for a while and see what's up.

I just tried to enter my password, and it wouldn't acknowledge the typescript. It accepted my user name but that was all. After a number of failed attempts, I closed the tab and reopened it. This time all was well. I doubt that the problem was my IPad Mini.

Well it looks like we found the issue. The new server runs an updated version of PHP that the current version of the forum seems to have some issues with. There is a patch for the forum software and we will be applying it early next week. In the meantime they rolled back the PHP so we will run smoothly until the forum patch is applied and the newer PHP can then be used.

The forum will be down for a couple of hours while we do the upgrade. I'll try to give some advance notice.

Just noticed I cracked 20,000 posts! OK... lots of RSS feed posts but still that's a LOT of posts!
Also noticed that it's now 12 years on the various versions of this forum software, moved to 5 servers over that time (to and from both Apache and IIS servers) and with very few glitches. That is truly solid - and I am a VBulliten fanboy!

Thanks. Looks like there will be a short outage on Sunday to do the PHP and forum update. It's just a system update. It won't include new features.

Hope I can slide this in without being accused of a hi-jack. Recall recently completing a survey for RM/OG (at renewal time?). Wondering if/when you plan to release results? I know it's to assist you with your business model going forward but would be interesting to see/hear what other like-minded RM/OG members think... Thanks.
