Are we going to have to put up with the cow pasture greens at Hunt Club? Serious question.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Jv... that happened 2 years ago for a couple of months. Let it go!
West 9 will be monitored closely at the beginning to make sure it is ready for the traffic. 44,000 rounds per year I think I read. New greens are bigger to allow more pin placements. I'm very excited about the reno. Can't wait to see the South when it's done in 2015.You only get out of something what you put into it

How many members do you have at Hunt Club?
-
10-29-2013 01:40 PM #9
"Active members" is the number you want to find out. Hunt Club has a many members but some don't start their season till June/July, and don't play more than 20 times a year. I bumped into two guys who were touring the renovations and one of them said he hadn't played in two years! But he wanted to see what changes were being done. lol.

There's roughly 500 full privilege members. 1400 total members (like social, curlers, out of country, etc.) That said, only 18 holes we available this year and I could always find a tee time.

Let me know if you are looking for players to represent Hunt Club.
On an aside, hunt must not be so bad. Good enough for a bunch of rideau view guys who have jumped ship.
Lastly, the changes look amazing. The member roster is available for members, but the number of active members I would venture account for about 75 percent of the total. I know a bunch of gentlemen who play fewer then five rounds a year. Some less.

Maybe that's why they left RV and went to The Hunt.
My expectations are low as far as making the Intersectional team at RV. I had a blow up round on day two of qualifying, otherwise, would have been in the top 4-6 at EC. Lost in a playoff for a spot.
This season, I'd be lucky to be in the top 20!!!

I know that to make the RV team realistically you need to be a 3 or better and if you are a 3 you better have a good weekend.
They actually open qualifying to 5's and lower but the last two years the team has always been made up of 1's and better. I'm sure the same is true at the Hunt. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I might be interested for RV as long as it doesn't conflict with Golf Quebec events etc.

I'm sure we can make it work. We can most likely work around the events.

I will keep updating the list of players interested in the first post.
I think a good format would be to have 4 players representing each club. That would give a total of 12 players. We'd book 3 foursomes, back to back to back like this:
1: Hunt-Hunt-Creek-View
2: Hunt-Creek-Creek-View
3: Hunt-Creek-View-View
Best ball format for all 18 holes.
In the first group, one player from the Hunt has a match vs Eagle Creek worth 1 point, as well as a match vs Rideauview worth 1 point. The second player from the Hunt also has a match vs EC and RV worth 1 point each. So Hunt Club can win a max of 4 points in this group while EC and RV can win 6 points max because they are playing two guys from the HC.
Group two, EC can win 4pts max, while HC and RV can win 6pts max. etc...
Any other format ideas welcome. You only get out of something what you put into it

Who has expressed interest from Eagle yet though?
-

Nobody yet. I could probably get a few guys though. If we don't end up with anyone from Eagle Creek, we can find another group of members. If that fails, Rideau View vs. Hunt Club is fine.

True. The quality and depth of players at these courses is outstanding. Hunt and Rideau View were missing some of their best players this year for the intersectional matches. Guys in the 3-5 handicap range like myself don't have a chance. I don't say that in a negative context, it simply speaks to the quality of the membership.

Obviously a long way off, but I'd be game if timing worked out. Never played the Hunt, so I'd be happy with a home & home.
Let's put a Smile on that Face!
