    Weight Shift Plates

    Hey All,

I'm at the PGA Alberta show and came across this:
    http://www.boditrak.com/products/golf.php

I have a few clients ask for something like this, but would love to hear your thoughts on if it would be valuable for you...

Feel free to post constructive opinions and feedback if you have used one, want one or don't want one.

There are some others out there like Swing Guru, TruGolf TruBalance.

    Cheers,
    Cory

This retails for $1995, but I may become a distributor and be able to offer a small discount to the forum members.

If do have flaws in your swing and you are able to get the "perfect" shift, then you will have to retool your whole swing. If you are going to totally retool your swing i could see how a weight shift system may help, but because everyone's swing is different i don't know how much it would help. Like Bubba says all comes down to price. I always strife for perfection but sometimes that goal causes a lot of grief in my swing. Just my 2 cents

Hello Cory, I purchased Swinguru, right now I am trying myswinguru and the pro version, not sure which one I will keep, I think this product would be good if mixed with another software, V1, swingbyte etc... I just dont see myself practicing only for weight shift data nor I would like to be switching between apps, it also seems too expensive for tha data it offers.

How many sensors per square inch?
It looks pretty basic. At least you need accurate data on heel/toe/mid distribution. Don't know if that is good enough?

I am just starting to try it out, distances required for the cameras seem a bit short, in my case it needs 1 or 2 feet more away from the player. I have been playing with myswinguru and I like it, is not 100% accurate on its analysis, but its a good starting point, plus, its software so I expect to get actualizations every now and then, making it a better experience. For example, I think the "too much bent knees" analysis is off. Based on reading, I am leaning towards the pro version which costs the same, has balance plate, different functions but does not try to tell you what you are doing right or wrong. I read a lot abi=out how your swing should be, so I kind of know what to look for.

I was thinking of buying Swinguru, but I am unsure what it actually offers over standard video combined with a 3d shaft sensor such as swingbyte or sky pro. Mich, would appreciate if you could elaborate for us??

NB. I already have a balance plate (swing catalyst) as well so really interested to know what is unique about swing guru. The youtube videos don't really help much

    Hey Golfmonster,

The swing guru analyzes the fulle swing and creates ratings for a large number of parts of the swing. You can drill down each point and then get drills on how to improve each point. Did you get a chance to checkout the video I took at the PGA Expo in Vegas (August)?

    Cheers,
    Cory

Personally I would spend your $5K on coaching or clubs. Would be interested to see the results though.

I agree. In the age of online lessons etc, 5K will buy a lot of lessons from lots of different coaches. From Cory's great video, seems SG just tells you what is wrong and gives you suggestions to fix. I think most people who are crazy enough to do these forums already have a good knowledge of swing theory. With SG, you would be getting ONE persons idea of what he thinks is wrong with your swing.
