    Callaway X-14 broken shaft replacement

My dad broke the shaft on his regular flex Call away X-14 6 iron today right at the top of the hozel. Will golf town and other golf shops locally be able to replace this shaft with the bore through design or will it need to be sent off to be replaced?

Anyone have a suggestion where to send it and roughly what it will cost to replace?

Any knowledgeable golf shop should be able to perform this task however they may have a hard time finding the same shaft:

I would check with Callaway if the replacement shaft is available.

I golfed with a guy who was playing X-14 or X-16 irons...can't remember...he broke half the shafts in his set over a few years. Each time he took the broken iron to Golftown and they sent it to Callaway who replace the shaft for free.

Callaway has great service. They likely will not have the x-14 shafts but will put in a similar weight and flex just might have a differnt color. The other thing you could do is just buy a replacement iron of ebay probably 40 to 60 shipped .

Jeesh - why do you put thoughts like that in my head!

I spoke to Golftown about sending them back to Callaway. Guy said they will replace it with a "similar" shaft, the cost will be about $35. Someone local replied on the forums and offered to replace it for $40, so I'll do that and keep my money local, and hopefully get it back quicker than if I had shipped it off to Callaway.
