I believe some have posted that this might actually be recommended by Foresight? It does seem strange that they would suggest this and one would think it would create the opposite effect?

It was recommended to me by Foresight. I was able to speak with a rep for a half an hour regarding these units. He was a wealth of knowledge about the foresight and other monitors.

Not strange to think that at all but completely logical. If there are images taken from below or below then the spin axis measurement is made based on that particularly view of the ball. Take a pen and hold the tip at the same height as one eye and point the tip in your direction. You will see only the tip. If you place your eye below the tip it looks (for you) that the tip is pointed upwards, place your eye above the tip it will look like the tip is pointing downwards.
Now replace the eye by a camera and replace the tip as being the spinaxis. The same goes for left and right. and is an classical example of measuring 3d data from a 2d image.
Left and right can be solved to use two camera's next to each other at the same height, hence stereo vision. Solving up/down needs a third camera place directly above\below one of those two camera's. Placing the camera 100% perpendicular to the target line is needed to solve alignment issues and placing it 100% (water) level solves any launch angle issues. incorporating a tilt sensor to adjust any possible placement errors would make life a bit easier.
PS Or use, as both TM as FS do, an auto level system and extra camera for target line alignment.Last edited by Frans@france; 03-07-2014 at 09:28 AM.
