So you have a 66 there then? The guy played very well to get to a 66 a course with that much bite if you stray at all. Sure if you flush every shot, its not that hard. Could that not be said for all courses? I cant think of a tougher track in Ottawa. At least for my game.

I'd agree. HP is not the easiest of courses around. It's not Kanata or Eagle Creek but the greens are plenty tricky and fast and its pretty tight overall. A couple of poorly hit shots will result in some big scores on holes there.

Hautes Plaines can be an extremely tough course if your driver or if your irons are off a little, but if your driving the ball well most holes your left with a wedge or less in your hands, contrary to popular belief the greens are fairly flat and easy to putt, yes they are small but most putts are fairly straight. If I were to play 10 rounds at HP and 10 rounds at EC or Kanata my stroke average would be almost 5 shots better at HP. Denis is a much more consistant player then me, my PB is 68 at HP and I have never played a full 18 under par anywhere else. Whats scary is the kid will surpass that 66 its just a matter of time, one of the most well rounded consistant golfers in this city, amazing to watch Denis play every weekend, keep it up buddy, wouldnt be surprised if he won the City District and our club championship this weekend.

For me 66 is a great score, since my previous best at HP was 69 a couple of times, so it was a decent breakthrough.
HP is not 'easy', but its short so its very scoreable as long as you don't spray. The 66 was a -2.8 differential for reference.

Club Championship? Possibly..
City & District? Verrrry doubtful (not having played the courses doesn't make it any easier). But it is a lot of fun to play with a bunch of great players who can show you how golf is really played. Played with a 15 year old today, who shot what seems like the easiest even par ever.

I had a 5-stroke lead after shooting a 68 in the opening round, which was closed to 3-strokes after the 2nd round, and stayed that way through the 3rd. Closest the nearest competitor got was within 2-strokes on the final day and had me scared
