Any Hylands members here???
Was wondering when the course will be open and how it is looking this year. Heard some rumours that the greens came through the winter very well but haven't had a chance to drive by or visit yet. Comments???

No but..
I'm not a member but I've been on the waiting list for 2 years - haven't made too much upward progress though as I'm in the very last category.
Maybe in another 5 or 6 years I'll get the call.

How do you do that?
Can you give us more info on what 'categories' there are and how it all works. I've always wondered how to get into the Hylands.

I stopped by yesterday, the course is opening this Saturday (yes, I will be there!!) and from what I could see looks to be in great shape. The greens have been cut and I was told the course endured the winter extremely well. The range is open and all grass tees are in use. For Spidey and 4jag, drop me an e-mail, more than happy to invite you out for a round.

Membership Categories
Thanks Michael, may have to take you up on that.
Spidey,
There are 23 "priorities" for the waiting list grouped in to 3 categories.
Category A has 5 priorities ranging from current members of the forces and their dependants to foreign military personnel on duty with the Canadian Forces.
Category B has 8 priorities ranging from non-military founding members to dependants of reserve force members.
Category C has 9 priorities ranging from Canadian war veterans to any other person with sponsorship of two current club members.
I'm in the last priority of category c. It costs me $10/year to keep my name on the list. Last time I checked I was about 300th on the list.

tx 4jag, most interesting. I had no idea that it was such a popular place. It sounds like the hardest club in the area to join. Even at Hunt and Rivermead, all you need is a pile of money.
A very gracious invite, Michael, I do believe I'll take you up on it before too long. It's been a very long time since I played Hylands.spidey

No problem guys, I usually play Saturday mornings for sure and sometimes on Sunday. Also once per week after work if time allows. Cheers.
