Talor Made r540 xd VS. r580 xd

Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 drivers? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

The difference is head size.

540XD is 400cc
580Xd is 440cc

The lauch is a little higher in the bigger head due to center of gravity. I have a 540Xd for sale if your interested?

i had an R540xd. thing is, i bought it around Christmas time and just a few weeks ago, the club face dented while hitting balls in the simulator. i mis-hit a ball off centre towards the toe. some e-research has found that this is a common problem with the 540 and some 580's do it too.

the good, it's a great club. very forgiving. oh and the club was replaced with an R5 dual under warranty by taylormade.

sorry Styxx, no pictures and the club's long gone now. think of a door ding by an inconsiderate motorist in a wal-mart parking lot. off centre and towards the toe.

btw, if you check out the "Taylormade warranty sucks" thread, you'll also see that i managed to break the R5 today. first time out with the club and indoors at the driving range! maybe 1 bucket of balls and now there's a rattle in the club head. hopefully TM will replace this one. as nice a driver as TM makes, i don't think i'll be buying another one again.

I saw at Sprot Chek the r580 XD for $279.99

Has anyone else seen this club at a better price in the Ottawa area? I am thinking of buying it but have decided to stay away from ebay due to warranty issues with Taylor Made.
Does anyone know if Sport Chek is an Authorised reseller?

While the 580 XD has a deeper club face, I have found that the ball balloons off of the 540 XD, while the 580 XD gives a much more boring trajectory. That being said, I am not particularly fond of either...sorry to hear about the problems everyone is having with them. Personally, I would take Titleist over TM anyday of the week - they just feel so much more solid.
