Artificial object attached to a living one
This came to mind while watching the video piece about Oak Hill's "Hill of Fame". Many of the oak trees on the hillside along the 13th hole have commemorative brass plaques attached to them.
If a player were to hit his ball in close proximity to one of those trees, and his swing path was interfered with by the attached plaque, would he get relief? When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

It would depend on the size, shape and position of the plaque.
A player may not take relief under Rule (24-2) if (a) interference by anything other than an immovable obstruction makes the stroke clearly impracticable. ie the tree itselfLast edited by AAA; 08-08-2013 at 02:58 PM.
