$10k Budget For Home Simulator
I shoot high 80s to low 90s but feel I'm just on the verge of breaking into the 70s if I could add some consistency to my swing. I'd also like to learn how to properly hit a draw or fade, on purpose, and controlled lol.
I'm relatively new to this niche, but from what I've gathered the protee at around $6k seems to be the best bang for buck in terms of accuracy and features.
The GC2 seems to be a bit more accurate, but sits at $10k price not including the HMT which would be another $4k.
I've looked at the DIY Optishot setups for under $1k, but I'm not convinced about the accuracy of it.
Is the GC2 $5000 better than the Protee?
Are there other sims I should be looking at?

Plenty of reviews out there. Just search ProTee or GC2. Do your research and if possible try to test as many sims as you can. There is no right answer to which sim you should get. ProTee, GC2, Trugolf, GSA are all choices. I would say ProTee and GC2 are more popular units. The pros and cons of each, as it applies to you, will make you chose the system more appropriate for you.

I have both. The GC2 is definitely not $5000 better than the Protee. It's great for outdoors, club fitting, maximizing driver distance with spin rates/LA etc...but the Protee will give you club feedback when working on draws and fades.
I thought the HMT was another $6500?

Ok, I think I've settled on the Protee, but where is the best place to order this thing from? Straight from protee-united in Netherlands? Is there a place in Canada with these things in stock to avoid customs and or duty and the 2 week lead time?

less if you just want to "add some consistency to my swing. I'd also like to learn how to properly hit a draw or fade, on purpose, and controlled lob" and dont really need courses. Just use the Apple/Android app. Take the GC2 to the range as well.
I would jest buy the base pack with Brabazon, range and fitting software and wait for the upcoming wiz bang new courses!

I don't disagree. The GC2 is a great option and will allow for good practice. However so will the Protee. Just pointing out that GC2 with the same course equivalent as Protee is more expensive than 3k. The option of a GC2, fitting software and limited courses is a good plan. Most won't buy all the GC2 courses simply due to the high cost.

I would probably go with the GC2 if you didn't have to turn it for lefties and righties each swing. Theres a few lefties I play with regularly so this would become an annoyance long term. Plus I would want the HMT addon for the GC2 which makes it about double the price of the Protee.

One thing I'm curious about the Protee and how you don't need to hit a ball for it to work... Well say you're hitting an iron and you swing above the grass slightly where if there was a ball there you would just blade it or top it. Will it detect that?

ProTee needs a ball to work. It detects both club and ball. GC2 + HMT + Courses is close to triple the price of the ProTee.

Ahhh Bubba there's more to life than money......
Still have not done my left/ right video again. Will have to do as the switch is easier than club selection.

I agree CPA. The other option for lefties/righties is http://www.customdesigngolf.com/port...me_better_.htm

That means they hit from a diffferent spot..... Room size an issue, screen setup etc .
Much easier to mark the mat for easy lift of GC2 and placement.

Would love to see the ease of GC2 movements for lefties/righties you state CP. Just seems to me that the repeated turning would be a hassle.

Any places in the GTA area towards Burlington where I can test a Protee?
