    Cell Phones and PGA Tour

Are the players allowed to communicate via cell phones while playing a PGA/Major event? Do they, for example, tweet or text during their rounds? Just curious??

The following Regulation (not Condition of Competition) is used at the English and British Amateur Championships. I guess they would have got it from the R&A.
I suspect the Tours have a similar Regulation. The Regulations include Dress Code

Mobile Phones (including pagers and similar devices): May not be used on the course (including on practice days) by players or caddies for making/sending or receiving calls or texts except in cases of emergency.
