Ontario golfer Brooke Henderson qualifies for U.S. Women's Open

Brooke Henderson can be excused for skipping school Thursday. The 15-year-old Smiths Falls, Ont., golf sensation took serious advantage of the day off, defying the odds to qualify for one of the biggest events in her sport -- the U.S. Women's Open.

We need more young people like this girl; she works hard is always polite and humble when approached. Maybe Ottawa Golf can set up an area to keep track of some of our young local amateurs so we can set up a fan base for support.

Her sister Britney has done well for herself with golf and education.

played Smiths Falls last year , when we tee'd off Brooke was on the practice green putting , ~ 4 hours later when we finished our round she was on her way to the range to hit balls. Very dedicated to her craft not to mention an awesome swing. Watched her hit balls and it was like she was on auto pilot . She is also a very polite and well spoken young lady , her parents have done a great job keeping her grounded. At just 15 she has lots to look forward to.
