A little survey about local area golf
Please answer Yes or No!
Does having a driving range play a part in where you green fee?
Does having a driving range play a part in where you join?
If paying a green fee that is on the high side, should range balls be included?
Do you spend at a half way house if its close to the 10th tee?
If you are a member, do you cart when you green fee play elsewhere?
Would a Cart, Green Fee, Meal package interest you?
If the course is mint, does mediocre service hurt the experience?
If the service is mint, does a mediocre course hurt the experience?
Last question (not a yes or no) are you a member anywhere and if so beside the course and the condition, what one thing do you love about your home course?
Thanks! (This information can be viewed by all on the boards and can be used/collected by all courses in hopes to help provide a better golf product in our region)

Does having a driving range play a part in where you green fee? Yes (but a small part)
Does having a driving range play a part in where you join? Yes (a big part)
If paying a green fee that is on the high side, should range balls be included? Yes (definately for $70+ green fee)
Do you spend at a half way house if its close to the 10th tee? Yes (often)
If you are a member, do you cart when you green fee play elsewhere? Never take a cart except at sorcier/marshes/smugglers

If the course is mint, does mediocre service hurt the experience? Yes (these questions are worded in such a way that most people will answer yes)
If the service is mint, does a mediocre course hurt the experience? Yes. I rather play a great course than have great service
Last question (not a yes or no) are you a member anywhere and if so beside the course and the condition, what one thing do you love about your home course? Reasonably fast rounds (always under 4h30, usually closer to 4h) +, Unlimited use of range, not having to worry about people picking up your ball in another fairway, not having to worry about being hit by a ball

Last question (not a yes or no) are you a member anywhere and if so beside the course and the condition, what one thing do you love about your home course? N/A. I do however like getting treated with the same courtesy that a member would. One course that stands out in my mind for this is Metcalfe. ALWAYS friendly staff, who go out of their way to help. There is an older man who works as a marshal who is an absolute joy to deal with and he seems quite eager to chat you up and give you any tips on the holes. Rob, the GM was very nice when giving me a tour of the facility when I was considering membership and was not pushy in the least. Other courses in the area seem to have 2 tiers of service. 1 tier for their members, and a second rate level of service for us lowly green fee payers. Those are courses I do not do repeat business with.

Last question (not a yes or no) are you a member anywhere and if so beside the course and the condition, what one thing do you love about your home course? not a member but I put high value on customer service and etiquette. Teach cart personnel the proper way to roll up on a group ( don't barge up to the tee or lumber accross the fairway while people are hitting) ; teach you maintenance people to get out of the way and turn off equipment when players are putting / hitting; teach you marshalls to do more than drive around and nod ; have a starter with a sense of humor sets the tone for the day and have pleasant customer service oriented people working in the pro shop. There are lots of Ottawa area courses that I can spend my money at be thankful I am your customer don't make it seem like you are doing me a favor by letting me play your course.
