    Best way from Ottawa to Muskoka

    Heading to Muskoka for the long weekend (more specifically Mactier area). Have been there a few times but looking for people's opinions on the fastest way to get there. Thanks!

    what part of Muskoka? Made the trip many times. If you are going to bracebridge or south I like Renfrew/Bancroft/Haliburton route. It's a nice drive. If I were going to Huntsville or north I would probably go the hwy 60 route via Algonquin.
    I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

    Basically right smack in the middle (Mactier). It's on the west side of Lake Joe

    I'd go the Renfrew/Bancroft/Haliburton route as there are more places to stop (both towns are nice in the summer with gas and restaurants). According to Google it's a wash between them distance/time wise.

    A GPS would help as well as there are a few turns you need to be aware of that may not be obvious. The other route (hwy 60) is a little more straightforward with less turns.

    I head that way periodically and always go via HWY 60.
