I'm aware that a proper draw (or push/draw) comes into impact with a face that is open to the target but closed compared to the path, and vice versa for a pull/cut. Now I'm normally scared of coming over the ball and hitting a big pull hook so I'm normally focused on hitting the inside quadrant of the ball.

My miss lately has been a straight push and I'm pretty sure I've been coming too inside/out due to this thought and being scared of hitting the outside of the ball. Then it almost dawned on me - provided your swing is on plane in the downswing and not OTT I don't know if it's even possible to close the club to the point that it would hit the outside of the ball (given your grip is good). I mean at MOST it seems like you could really over cook it and get it a few degrees shut with a really strong grip and a huge downturn.

With this in mind it feels somewhat OTT in the swing but I think it's just a matter of getting used to coming back to the inside quickly post impact.
