For safety sake!Reduce the risk of getting struck by lightning on local golf courses!
Environment Canada is unveiling a new application on its website showing areas that could possibly be hit by lightning in the next ten minutes. See this link http://weather.gc.ca/lightning/index_e.html
You should stay in your safe location for 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder because one third of lightning strikes happen after the peak of the storm has passed. Every year in Canada about 10 people are killed by lightning and more than 160 are hurt.Last edited by Laura Lipson; 06-12-2013 at 11:30 AM.

And believe me, lightning can strike before it starts to rain!

I notice Metcalfe has a ¨Lightning warning¨ sign on the first tee telling you what to do in case of a storm. Its really a nice getsture and comes in handy for people who dont know what to do in case of lightning. Wish more courses would be more pro active when it comes to this and have a early warning system ( radar) to get people off the course before a storm.
