I'm confused. What does salt/water have to do with marking your balls? If you're looking to draw a line on your ball, I saw this gadget at Golftown where it helps you draw a straight line on your ball.

im not sure,i think the salt makes the water less boyant,so the ball will float
that way the ball can be marked at its irregular spot
im not sure,am i wrong?

But I agree with Andre, buy the Technasonic Check-Go. It's a lot less trouble.Golf is a game invented by the same people who think music comes out of bagpipes.

Golfworks sells a kit similar to epsom salt and water. The solution makes the ball float and after spinning the ball it comes to rest on its light side.

The check-go does not require any solution and is a lot less hassle than anything out there involving water/salt etc. available through Golfsmith in Mississsauga.

i realize this probably should be asked in the rules section but,
is it legal to pick up your ball on the green simply to adjust your
ball marking?the rules only say you may clean it or repair damage to green.

It's legal and if you pay attention you'll see Tiger and others do it time and time again. It is part of their putting routine.

For example, your ball is on the fringe and a fellow competitor asks you to lift and mark your ball. You cannot clean the ball because it is not on the green, but you are permitted to align it when you replace it.Golf is a game invented by the same people who think music comes out of bagpipes.

Usually sometime in February when I'm really starving for golf and watching the Golf Channel...I use the salt water/jet dry method to balance a few dozen golf balls. It might be a bit messy but its a lot cheaper than the Check-Go gadget.
Does the Check-go gadget always draws a line around the ball or does it allow you to just put a dot on the ball? Just curious.
