    Cool Age of OttawaGolf Community

I am just curious which category people fall under when it comes to age. I recently participated in a poll for the Ottawa Region so this is what gave me the idea...

    You may want to make it 50-60 & 60-70 & 70+

I'm "in my 50's" so it works for me, but I know there are a good number of older golfers here.

Yeah well the 50+ is a good vote for them...Doesn't remind them of their actual age. HAHA! Not that there's anything wrong with being old.

Absolutely---you get to play at least the number of games as you are old
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

There are many things wrong with being old, but it beats the alternative .

I'm lucky enough to have a job where I can do the same...but I'm not an old fart. It's also awesome!

That being said...there's nothing wrong with being an old fart.

I golf every day so when I retire from govt, the only thing that will change is my tee times will be in the mornings!

Recently read about the attempts to attract more/younger golfers to the game. IMHO enlarging the hole or reducing the cost will not attract "golfers". Best chance is to recruit young and foster that through school, camps and clubs. Face it, the youth today want it all NOW and are not well suited to take up a "game" that will take 5-6 hours out of their day. It's too long and moves too slowly. Trying to attract someone new to the game after they have been hooked by all the social media and gaming options is a losing proposition.
