Red Chain courses/ ProTee and SweetFX
Have been playing around with a program called SweetFX.
This have only been tested on ProTee but I assume with few changes it can be used on all Red Chain based simulator software.
The point for me was to make the textures sharper and more defined and also make the courses look like there really is sunshine.
I have not been able to make it work in normal mode which is just install in the folder where the programs .exe file is located.
There for this instruction will only work with Amd graphics cards.
You need to download SweetFx and unpack to a folder.
Then you need Radeon Pro. With a Amd GPU you should have that anyway.
First I will assume you have the latest driver currently 13.1 and have selected SSAA to replace the in game AA and also the other quality enhancements you can do in the driver. That will get ride of the annoying flicking on and off of leafs.
You can do that in Radeon Pro too if you like.
First open and point Radeon Pro to the folder where you unpacked SweetFx
Create a profile and point to Protee.exeThat file is located in C:\programdata\ProTeePortal\Games\Proteesim
Then on the Launcher tab use Custom and under Executable browse to ProTeePortal.exe. That is in C:\ Program Files (X86) \ ProTeePortal folder.
Now select the SweetFX tab.
CheckLumaSharpen, HDR, Vibrance, Curves and Vignette.
HDR sets brightness. I use 1.25 and 1.0 but all depend on projector and screen.
Curves makes the textures 'pop' out.
Bloom is nice too but the bunkers with white sand can easy get too much.
Also try Split Screen then you can compare to no effects.
You need to select AA in game I use the drivers dynamic sync as it looks like the in game Vsync does not work.
This puts extra demand on the GPU so if you have a weaker GPU maybe go down to 2 x AA and do not use Bloom. Or go get a HD 78750 or better
SweetFX should have worked just by unpacking into the ProTeeSim folder but could not get it to work! Might work on other computers!
While it will not change your garage into the Holodeck of starship Enterprise it does create a better 3D experience as the textures pops out and I also like the feeling of brighter sunlight. There are flowers and other details I newer saw/ noticed before.
Hope somebody can get it to run in normal mode so the Nvidia people can use it too.
There are no install or changes to windows if you do not like it just delete the SwetFx folder again.

Not sure how easy it is to see? Had to reduce the color and size. And both got darker looking during the upload.
It is quit easy to do just my explanation that got long.
I use it for MS Flight Simulator X where it works just by dropping the files in the folder.
Yes it does load the GPU but that is more the SSAA than the SweetFx.
If the GPU have trouble reduce the AA and reduce the vsync to 30 in the Amd driver.
Forgot to write you need to keep the Radeon Pro running or minimized if you close there will not be any effects.

Yes it has an option of split screen so only one half of the screen gets the effect. And it this case SweetFx on the right hand side.
Again not sure why the picture got darker on the upload.

It will be a little hard since Carnival just started and the next days I will ether be drinking or sleeping it out. LOL
Take a look at the pictures in this FSX forum that was how I discovered it.
http://forum.avsim.net/topic/389455-...-this-sweetfx/
The effect is more noticeable with light wind and movements but as you can see it is not an upgrade to E6 2.0 but just a nicer look.
No clue why it doesn´t work in ´normal´mode.
You should download and try if it works on you computer.
Do not even understand why the ProTee.exe is in ProgramData!
There might be a DLL in another folder that calls DirectX if the SweetFx goes there it might work on all GPU.

Those of you that have the E6 software try to unpack the below file to the E6 Golf folder.
The default folder is C:\Program files\TruGolf\E6 Golf
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75561014/SweetFXE6.zip
You should see a brighter image with more defined 3D experience.
This works regardless of what kind of graphics card you have.
I only have the demo but should not matter.
Curious if people see any difference?
