It was shorts weather for sure. Don't know if we will be there this year

It was an exceptional spring after a mild winter so we can consider ourselves lucky in that respect. We will have to be patient this spring.

Greyhawk has their opening set for the 26th of April on their calendar. I certainly hope we are golfing before then

I had a great time at Mont Ste Marie this weekend (and every weekend since Christmas, come to think of it) And with the curling season coming into playoffs, a Mid-April start to golf seems just fine to me. There, I jinxed it back for you guys.

Any course that opens before April 1st is going to be a swamp. Hoping for a drained course by April 15th.

That would be an idea to start a thread " range opening times"

Must be nice to live in the south and not have a "Spring opening calender". Don't mean to tease, but just back yesterday from 10 games in Palm Springs.

Don't agree with that.. Played Nation in March the past 3 seasons and they allowed Carts as soon as they opened, no plugged balls, etc. The last year we had snow like this was 2007, they opened with snow lining the fairways and there was still no water or swampness to be seen!Captain of the Back to Back Ryder Cup Champs 12-13!

There are always a few exceptions, but most courses around here open under less than ideal conditions. Generally speaking, Donny is probably right. Most courses won't be dryish until April.

Its the same every year guys. Prescott, Mapleview and Nation open early and are generally dry and worth playing on opening day every year. Most other courses that open early are usually not worth playing unless we've had a mild winter. If you want to stay close to town and you're OK with playing only 9 holes, you can add Raceview to the list (but not Falcon Ridge).
I've started the season at one of these 4 courses every year for the last 8 years and never been disappointed. I'm sure this year will not be any different.

Marcos you should do the trifecta and all 3 on opening day (provided they are all open), let's see Gatineau to Nation - 72kms, Nation to Prescott - 128kms, Prescott to Mapleview 89 kms, Mapleview to Gatineau 103kms, a little over 400kms. 4 hours driving, 4 hours per round = 16 hours = rent a helicopter or have Pablo drive
