Simulators at Falcon Ridge - Feedback Please
Has anyone used the simulators there?
I am looking for any feedback about the quality of the machines...
What system do they use?
Thanks

I liked them. They use HD photography instead of computer graphics like GOM. Its easier to make putts because the hole is bigger (similar to the 1st generation GOM machines). However, you didn't have the same range for aiming, so if you get into trouble it is more difficult to pitch out, etc. A fun way to spend a few hours.

What type of sensors does it have? Do you have to hit off a tee each time? Is it like GolfTown where you hit off a mat? I have never been to GolfoMax

It is similar to GolfTown, where you hit off a tee for driver but off the mat for everything else.
There is only one type of mat, so you play off the same surface whether you are in the fairway, rough, deep rough or sand. This makes it easier to score but takes away some of the challenge IMHO. However, one of the features I did like was that they have different sizes for tees that screw into a holder in the mat - this makes it very easy to switch tees for different players who may prefer a different tee height.
