taking the shine off of my wedges

I have a set of wedges that I really like - except for the fact that they have the chrome finish and blind me on occasion.

Is there a safe way to take the shine off without negatively affecting the clubs?
I would rather not have to buy replacements as I like the performance of what I have.

    Any advice is appreciated.

If you do a web search (or check over at WRX) on how to satinize wedges, you'll get your answer. There is a process, requires lots of elbow grease, but short of stripping the chrome finish, will give you your desired result.

You can use fine steel wool or a dremel tool to get the desired effect or "satinized" look. I sent my Scratch wedge heads to Jim Kronus at the Iron Factory this winter and had the chrome and nickel stripped to a raw finish, looks amazing. Cost with shipping for the three heads was 85$ and that included having them regrooved.
