Cory always has something up his sleeve. But I have a feeling he has been sworn to secrecy on some things.

Someone indicated that Foresight Sports was going to be launching some new Apple "apps" for the GC2. I am not sure if this is true or not. I sure hope it is.

When I indicated "apps" - I meant apps for the iPad, iPhone, etc. - not apps for Mac computers. The GC2 software is only compatible with windows. I have run the software on a Mac computer running Windows 7 in bootcamp. The GC2 has an app available via iTunes, but it only offers very basic functionality.
I apologize if I confused anyone.

FYI..... when I was talking with the salesrep for Foresight Sports a couple weeks ago I asked him about new Ipad apps beyond the basic summary data that is past today to the Ipad. He was very excited about what was coming out and said they new apps would be shown at the PGA show in January. Not sure what if anything will be ugraded for the Android. Wish I had more....

Received this information from the folks at Foresight Sports about the upcoming release for their GC2 ipad/iphone app that will be demo at the PGA show "The NEW app will berobust, including shot shapes, dispersion, all club data visuals and a completeshot and data table". Sounds like a nice upgrade to what we have today.

So you don't need their sim software anymore if you just want the range?

If it is the same as gcdroid it is a poor substitute. They may fix the 2d shot shape and make it 3d but it is numbers rather than simulator style.

I didn't know it did shot shape now. For $20 that is really close to what you get with the range software.

Definitely prettier. But for thousands less if only working on technique the droid app ain't bad. By the way - where did you get the latest version or is it something you must pay for?

Cory
if you read this can you ask Trugolf when they are going to have an online version? I see on the retailer site I bought mine from they have advertised online tournaments for over a year now using the Trugolf and world golf tour. Since I did not get a pro tee (and kicking myself now) I would love to be able to play on line against other opponents.

Hopefully that happens for you bubs. Online is great and the Protee community is awesome. Maybe you can sell your unit and get a Protee?

Cory
and ask foresight re GC2 online play. All the buttons and screens are there but no-one is home.

I hope that happens but I have my doubts. Question will be if they do allow online play will there be a charge for it?

Optishot won't have any upgrades for the Show, just will be on display because they just had a larger update recently.

The Fullswing Golf World Golf Tour does not appear to be real time online play like that of Protee or P3pro. If you read the FAQs, is sounds like you just play your round(S) for any particular tournament within a time frame. Your scores are then uploaded to the World Golf Tour site where you can view the leaderboard and see where your score stands. It doesn't mention anything about online head to head play.
The concept of a weekly/monthly tournament and leaderboard would be a great addition to Protee's online play.

Yes I agree ZMax. That has been requested and Protee have said they are in the process of looking at how they can include golf scheduling, Teamspeak etc and allow us to easily book matches, tourneys etc. be great to have a leaderboard, keep stats, have longest drive, closest to hole designations etc etc

Bubs, I don't want to get too far off topic here but you should take bubba22's advice and trade in the Trugolf for the Protee. Get this... Protee can get Red Chain to add scramble(alt shot and 4 ball) to online play but will cost some money. Bubba22, myself, and others are trying to convince Protee to get this done! The more owners ask for this the better.
