    Question ball at rest moved

While I was studying for the seminar online i came across this. Under decision 18/7.5 a player is penalized if he accidentally drops a ball, that was lifted under a rule or is not in play, and it hits and moves another player's ball. Would the same apply if a player dropped a ball-marker?
    Thanks.

If he is playing match play the player would be penalized but in stroke play he would not for moving another player's ball. This would apply for anything else that causes another player's ball to move other than when searching. When you read the answers to 18/7.5 it mentions both match and stroke play. It's important to note those differences.

To provide you with a bit of a challenge, let's change your scenario above just a little. What would be the ruling if the other player's ball was moving when the ball was accidentally dropped on it?

Under rule 19-2 the player(whos ball was stopped)incurs a penalty of one stroke

Have a look at the scenario and then check 19-2 again.

Maybe, if you're playing with a poor sport
