Need a bit of projector help for build....
I am putting up a DD sim in my garage. I have made the necessary changes in order to get as much screen space as I can but Im having issues finding a projector that will do the trick. Here is my setup:
Screen 96 tall X 128 wide for a diagonal of 160.
I have 8-9 feet back for the projector so short throw is a must.
Looks like I must do 4:3 aspect to take advantage of screen.
720p is fine, 1280x800..
Im open to other thoughts but this is what I have come up with. I will do double checking my measurements later today.
Almost everything I have found is 1024x768 (4:3 native) 1280x800 (16:10 native)...How important is it to stick with native resolution when it comes to image quality?
Am I missing anything?

Optoma gt750e fits the bill. Very versatile.
Just check projector central calculator.

I have done quite a bit of reading on projector central as well as others. So is not using the native aspect ratio a big deal?
My biggest concern about the optoma is the white speck issue quite a few people have complained about...

You should always try to use the native resolution for best clarity and brightness. Also, even though the sim software will display in 4:3, it's probably 16:9 native. It's been a while since I owned the DD but I think it's 16:9 native. Which means you will lose a little on the sides if using 4:3. Might not be a big deal to you.

I like the 16:10 format just 'fits' my eye.
This is a older picture off my Optishot setup. I now have a larger screen and the image is displayed a little lower but the aspect ration is the same.

The screen since but on the picture it is about 9 1/2 feet wide.
The tee is 12 feet from the screen.
Now the screen is 12 feet wide. Was planing to get a 1920X1080 projector but might hold off a little longer.
Using limited flight golf balls so no damage on miss hits.
Now got some 3 foot side netting on tracks but I still prefer hitting limited flight balls indoor just less noise.
