    Bounce back?

I use Cory's hq screen and I have been having issues with golf ball rebounds. I saw a post with someone suggesting memory foam behind the screen. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and if so which thickness did you use? would 2 inches be enough?

I have the same problem with bounce back from the hq screen. I figured since most rave about its deadening qualities, it must have to do with the way I have it mounted.

    Hmmm, maybe not.

My guess is you have it too tight. I have a pole in the lining that zigzag bungee cord pulls just tight enough so no ripples.

Ball bounce back is limited to a roll back to the original lie......handy.

A picture would be great, looks like I'll be able to get my screen up sometime next week!

    Sorry.away from sim.

Side sewn over to create pocket for curtain rod top to bottom.
Then rod fixed by putting hole in either side of pocket so rod is pulled not screen ,the holes will be at side of rod.. Loop zipties through these from top to bottom., need at least 5.
Then zigzag bungee through side eyelets and zipties. Not too tight.
Finish by putting eyelet at top and bottom of side of screen and stretching so there are no ripples in screen along curtain rod.

I have the HQ screen as well. I've sewn webbing loops down each side and zig zag light bungee cord down the length. I tighten the bungee just enough to take the creases out of the screen and the bounce back it ok. I find if I tighten the lower portion (1/3) of the screen too tight I get a lot of bounce back.

That is important bit. Don't stretch screen, just tighten to take out creases.

I ordered 2 inch memory foam which I will install behind it and see if that works.

Bubs tell us how you support it. 2 inch memory is quite heavy.

Have a spare piece myself and if it is easy may install to stop noise of driver.

Bubs, did installing memory foam solve your rebound issue? How big of a gap do you have between the screen and foam? Also, how did you hang the foam?

yes it did solve the bounce back. I have my memory foam pretty much up against the wall behind the screen. It is probably an inch or so behind the screen itself. I hung it using bungees through eyelets screwed into the wall. I attached the bungees to the foam by using two metal strips and bolted them together through the foam. This adds strength to the foam so it is not tugging in any one spot which could cause a rip.

just make sure the metal or wood strips are not liable to be hit by a golf ball, that is not called bounceback that is called ricochet.

P2Pro can sell you a secondary heavy duty net that sits in behind screen. Works well.
