    I don't think so, Tiger never met the condition of playing enough European Tour tournaments to qualify. Playing the majors and the WGC tournaments, which are almost entirely based in the US, shouldn't qualify you. You should have to play in some actual European Tour tournaments, where your presence is promoting the European Tour. McIlroy and Donald have done that, Tiger never did.

    Not at all. The extra 5 euro tournaments to meet the requirement means an extra 5 trips (or maybe less if he groups them) which means less practice time, playing course/conditions that he doesn't like, etc.

    The fact that he happened to win enough money in co-sanctioned events as a non-member does not guarantee that he would have had he been a member. He probably would have, but it's not a slam dunk.

    I dont think Tiger cares if he gets the title. The money is all that matters.

    So he did it in 5 less events? Does that make it more of a feat?

    If you are Tiger's PR agent, yes.

    But who's to say that he wins the WGC events in the US if instead of practicing for 3 weeks in warm, sunny Florida he was playing in 10C wind and rain somewhere in Europe the week before and had to take his private jet back on the Monday before the tournament?
