Creative Golf 3D Software for GC2
Has anyone tried it? Would be curious to hear thoughts as to how it stacks up to the Red Chain offering in terms of graphics, experience and realism.

I've purchased a GC2 from Cory with the new base CG3 software so I'll let you guys know it is... Had a Protee but sold it b/c baby due in a couple of weeks and lost my designated golf room, so wanted something more portable that I could set up in garage, outside, take to range, etc... Anyways, I can at least compare the graphics to the Protee's graphics which I assume are similiar to the GC2's performance software...

Bubba, thanks... I think it ships in 5-10 business days and will try to post screen shots when I get it... cost roughly$7500 for base package (GC2, CG3 with 5 courses, range and games)... Thought that the CG3 software worked better for me than the premium software at this time... still very pricy compared to the Protee (which I loved), but just couldn't make the Protee set up work anymore...

$7500 is a big improvement on $9500 if you wanted more than 1 course. Waiting for your comments, especially the lack of spin display.

Can someone PLEASE tell me WHY spin is not displayed???????

Agree explanation from Cory was deflating even though a tablet workaround is possible.

I've had the GC2 in my shopping cart for over a year now. I have cold feet simply because if lack of user feedback on the software/simulator aspects of this system. I'm also interested in what you have to say about CG3.

Lack of feedback on the GC2, you have to be joking. As an indoor sim and training tool you will not regret the outlay.

I meant lack of feedback about CG3 software. We are talking 1.3K in addition to the base unit. The next entry is 2.5K in addtion to base unit. Makes me wonder about pros and cons and why the 1.2K price difference. I guess I don't have access to a GC2 sim to form my own opinion. Optishot just doesn't cut it for me anymore.

Big jump from the Optishot. The only thing the CG3 doesn't show is the spin, right? I do agree that not showing the spin is not good for me. For entertainment its ok, I guesse. Good luck with what you get and enjoy.

Just got the GC2 last night... have only done the range mode as I was trying to get the unit to measure irons accurately(seemed a bit short), so haven't gotten to the courses... Will try to add screen shots when I do... The range was nice and although no spin, the ipad/iphone ap worked great and gave spin numbers, so I was pretty happy with it...

Hopkins,
I've read Cory's writeup on the CG3 but would like to get your take on it. And comparisons to Red Chain's range. Did you get an extra range or just the range that's included with the CG3 base? Screen shots would be great too.
Thanks

CG3 software feedback
Ok... I put together a quick YouTube vid that offers some screen cams. MyIpad video quality was not the greatest so I might try doing something againwith my digital camcorder. It seems lighting is a challenge getting a good pic.Anyway take a look if you like and let me know if there is something specificyou like to see and I will try to get it on the next shoot.

Overall I am very happy with the Gc2 and the GC3 software. The integrationbetween the hardware and software is seamless. One note of caution would be havinga good video card in your computer to help with the processing of the simulationsoftware. I am using laptop PC with an i7 quad processor. The video chip set isnvidia Geo ForceGTX 46oM with 1.5 gig. I have had the computer shut down 3times for no apparent reason. Not sure what happened other than maybe thecomputer ran a little hot? Maybe a desktop PC would be better to help with the heat dispersion.
The Gc2 with the GC3 software pick up all shots. Nomatter if it was a good hit or bad. You do see the curve of the shot when youpull or push a hit. All the golf courses in the pack are European so connecting with their origin isa little difficult.

Degree of difficulty????
How does that change things?
Is it a quick button for pin position, weather etc?

The water, bunkers, and tress look really good. Would like to see closeups of the green. Perhaps a hi-res screenshot of the green.
Can you run the CG3 in a window or does it have to be full screen?
Thanks
Bubba22, please move these CG3 comments to the CG3 thread.

Thanks bru thru! Very nice, definitely superior graphics and the skill challenge options are nice feature. It will be awhile before I purchase any additional courses for my GC2 but the CG3 base pack looks like the way to go.

Ok.... I took some new video using a real digital camcorder. The IPad just didn't cut it. I think you will get a better detail view of the software from this. Here is the YouTube link.

CPA.... for me it is difficult since golf simulators arestill new to me. At this point all I can tell you is when you start a game youpick the skill level you want to play at and I think there are 4 levels frombeginner through pro. One the surface the distance for each hole gets longer (i.e. from forward gold tee boxes to championship tees.)
You can change the settings such as weather, ball traces, andflag posting from a selecting a couple icons either at the start of a round orchanging it after the hole had started. I am still working my way around thesoftware but for the most part I find it intuitive and easy to navigate.
Hope this helps....

Sounds like the difficulty is tee marker distance.
Few questions;
can you turn the birds off or at least shoot them?
the ball is not following on from where the real ball hits the screen like FS Redchain- is their a room/screen setup menu?
can you change the green grid? The current FS Redchain looks better and has movement indicators.
Overall ZMax I would suggest you get FS Redchain basepack with 1 course. Graphics on CG3 may look better but the overall play and finesse not up to FS RC. Bring on PP.
PS Bruthru- Can I suggest you put bungees on each corner pulling screen straight up and down, then you can put all bungees on side (maybe looser) and you will have no creases.
Thanks for the video

The new video looks a lot better. Those graphics are nice. Looks to have more detail than Red Chain. Can you adjust the size of the cup or the ball? The ball appears to be very small compared to the cup.
Also, can you run CG3 in a window?
Thanks again.
