OttawaGolf Handicap page
Does anyone else have trouble accessing this page frequently? It seems like the SQL timeout gets met fairly frequently causing you to have to log back in and try again.
Right now I've been trying to enter a round for over 20 minutes
Sounds like you need to add some database indexes or jazz up the resources on that server

Ya that section is really really really slow. Great tool to have though.

The server is in need of replacement/upgrade and that is in the works. Likely not until the season is over though. Sorry for any inconvenience, but it is temporary.
Firefox is working for me without timouts. You may want to try it. Just wait a few seconds for the system to reload after making a menu change.Last edited by Kilroy; 09-24-2012 at 08:38 AM.

No inconvenience really - it's a free service you can't really complain too much!
Thanks

Cannot enter games from my trip south. I know you can't enter scores for local courses during the winter but was always able to enter manual rounds. Anyone know if the system has changed?

Manual entry works for me. It's on a new server, but that shouldn't be a factor. What browser / OS are you using?

Hi Dan
I'm using Windows 7 and have tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I click on manual entry but it will not allow me to enter slope or rating, only my score. I also tried to enter my scores on a friends computer in Florida but same results.

A few people now have reported being unable to enter Manual Entries while out of the region. 2 from Florida and another who just said he is 'away' from Ottawa. We changed the server and this is an odd side effect I believe, so we're trying to track it down.
If I could get a few people who use the handicapping system to try entering a 2 scores - one manually and one from the drop downs, and report back. You can use the round Edit tool to remove the test entries.
I want to know :
- Where you are
- manual entry (pass / fail)
- drop down list (pass / fail)
- if you have a fail - what browser/os

Put the two rounds in as recommended and from Russell all was good. I was able to put both rounds in and remove them. I'm using Firefox with Mac OS Mountain Lion. I have the following (small) comments to add though:
1. When selecting a date from the pop-up calendar, I could click the date but the calendar would not go away and I had to manually close it and enter the date myself;
2. When removing the rounds, the score and slope/rating data follows but the name of the course defaults back to Le Sorcier.nice_lag

OK we found a bug in the new system that is causing this problem. It has nothing to do with where the user is, but a glitch with the software running on the new server.
For now the workaround is to choose a local course in your profile under the course member drop down. The handicapping system will default to that course when you go to Round Entry. You can then chose Manual Entry or select another course as before. We are working on a better fix, but that will allow you to enter scores.

Hi Dan. Did this bug get fixed? Still have to enter my local games manually. Thanks.

It was fixed some time ago. If you are still having problems try this… click this link http://www.reservationmasters.com/log.aspx (clears the cookies for RM / OG).

Thanks Dan
Seems to have worked sort of. Had to type in the name a couple of times before it would find the course.
