    Welcome to the Forum!

Why do you need to know the rusting issue? I would say leave them outside all winter in a snowbank is the fastest way?

Toss them in a bucket of water with some salt added for about 3 days and they'll be plenty rusty

The Cleveland RTGs are designed to rust. Great grip on the ball.

Don't do it to clubs not designed for it.

Every year I always put my Cleveland in coke or pepsi to take off the rust from the year before. After that I usually take a few paper towels, wet them and wrap it around the face of the club and leave it for a few hours.

    Works for me!

So better grip gives you more spin?

One round when it's a bit damp or raining does it quite nicely too!

    rusting wedges

These wedges do not need an exceeding large amount of rust anyway
as too much rust behaves like dirt on the face.
The concept is to have a slightly abrasive surface that grips the ball
when you punch down on it, Thereforre giving more grip than thegrooves can add by themselves. ( Much like what purespin does with their diamond face)

Cleveland suggests that you remove excess rust from these clubs with steel wool..
and also i have found that the RTG does not need any extreme measures to cause rusting ans simply getting them wet or playing them all in a wet bunker will let them rust nicely.

WOW ! Is anyone else concerned that Pepsi can take rust off of wedges? Scary what it could do to your insides...

I used to use it to clean my bike chain in the winter when I was a courier. Works like a charm and much cheaper than a new chain every month!

Just play one round in wet conditions this spring. It'll be as rusty as you need it to be.
