What's your favourite golf ball?
I thought of more racy thread titles, but I kept it clean!!
Rediscovered golf last year after a ~10 year hiatus. Getting to the point in my game where I have *some* level of control on my shots, and am interested in testing out different golf galls.
In terms of my game, I've been hitting mid to high-80's over the past few months, generally getting on, or very close to greens in regulation, with a chip on + putt for par, or two putt for bogey.
I tend to hit my driver 250 - 280 with an occasional slight slice, but getting better at controlling it.
I don't lose nearly as many golf balls as I did last year (though I haven't tackled courses like Stonebridge yet), so I don't mind picking up a few premium balls.
This year, I had been playing Costco Callaways and liked 'em a LOT better than the Dunlops I started with last year. And I seem to hit better when I'm hitting a Pinnacle or Callaway.
But maybe there's better? I tried some Titleist NXT tours last week. Meh.
Maybe I'm not good enough yet to really appreciate these.
Any suggestions on what to try next? Taylor Made TP3/5? Nike 20xi?
Thanks guys!
Cheers!

The TM TP3 is the best deal out there for a new ball IMHO. 24 for $55 new at GT. I recently tried the Wilson Staff FG Tour and really liked it.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I got fed up with the Prov1 and Prov1x lack of durability so I gave the Callaway Diablo HX Tour a try, $29/dozen. It has a soft cover for excellent feel while putting/chipping and has solid distance. It's my new favorite ball.

ProV1's are the best ball out there in my opinion for combination of distance and spin, but obviously pricey. I like to have some back up Bridgestone B330's in my bag when they go on sale as well. I find them very durable and almost to the Pro V1 standard.

I don't know how the new ProV1 and ProV1x compares to the ones three years ago, but I am still playing balls I got for free three years ago. We used to get promo sleeves so I still have them since I took a couple of years off golf.
Have they changed much?

Going to the Canadian tomorrow ... will try either the ProV1(x), TP3 or 5, or the Diablo HX - depending on what they have.
Played Nation today. Lost many more balls than usual! It's a stunning course, but tighter and less forgiving than what I'm used to playing.
Thanks for the input, guys!

I bought a box of TP5's this morning and liked them a lot. I used to play with Prov1s... they're still #1 but so pricey

+1 on ProV1' s being pricey! I picked up a sleeve at the Canadian today and promptly lost 2. Ouch! Can't blame the ball though. Absolutely loved the feel of 'em, and the spin effect was impressive!
May try the TP5's tomorrow as I try to salvage this weekend with at least one good round. 2 bad ones in the books. Nowhere to go but up!

fyi, Walmart sells used Prov1's for about the same price. I've used these before and they are great.

Good to know, thanks!
I might try Knet when I want to order more volume since it's not as cost-effective to order a single dozen and pay $10 for shipping ... but I'll give the Walmart ProV1's a try for ~$20. That's decent if they're in good shape.
