Anyone golfed near Vancouver in early March

Looking around the web, it seems that some courses maybe opened in early March.
I was hoping to maybe get a round in if possible.

Has anyone played there in early March?
    Any recommendations for a course.

    Cheers.

What area in Vancouver? I was there in December and golfed. If you let me know which area you are headed to, I can point out some courses for you.

Last year I was in Abbottsford in March and April and the courses were in great shape. If you are near Chilliwack, you have to go to The Falls, a beautiful course cut into the mountain! I also played Sandpiper (east of Mission), Redwood (Langley), Ledgeview (Abbotsford) and Belmont (Langley). Most are open pretty much year round, you shouldnt ahve a problem getting a round in in March.

Check out Northview GC in Surrey. 2 great 18's designed by Arnold Palmer. They used to play the Air Canada Championship on thr Ridge Course. (Mike Weir's first tour win)

When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

That's why I was asking where he was going to be staying. There's good courses all over, and I know the area well, having lived there for 30+ years, so I thought I could direct him to the best selection without having to travel too far.

For example Furry Creek opens March 12 and it's just north of Vancouver on the way to Whistler (they filmed some of Happy Gilmour there, absolutely beautiful), The Falls is another good choice. However they are on opposite ends of the Vancouver area and are about 3 hours apart. If he's downtown, University Club is a good choice. There's lots of options. Northview is good (it's about a mile from my mom's place), Morgan Creek is also very good (also in Surrey)

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I am going to be right downtown just south of Stanley Park.

So it depends on the number of rounds you want to get in.

Being Downtown like that, I would recommend:
    1. Furry Creek, about 30 minutes away, but it doesn't open until the 12th
    2. University Golf Club at UBC - About 20-25 minutes away
    3. Mayfair Lakes in Richmond - about 10 minutes from the airport, 20-30 minutes from downtown
    4. The City of Vancouver has three municiple courses all within 20-25 minutes of downtown - http://www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/parks/golf/index.htm - McCleery, which is a nice course along the Fraser River, Langara, built in 1926 and redesigned by Thomas McBroom, and Fraserview, another McBroom course
    5. Then you've got the out of town courses, Northview and Morgan Creek, both about 45-60 minutes out of Vancouver. The Falls is another hour past them.
I've played all of the courses I've listed with the exceptions of Langara and Fraserview, and recommend all of them. There are some other courses around that are worthwhile, Peace Portal by the border (shorter course), Hazelmere, Belmont, Newlands (the course I played growing up) but the ones I wrote above are closer and you should be happy with them, especially the mountain views of Furry Creek. Info on Furry Creek and Mayfair Lakes can be found here:

    www.golfbc.com.

The 14th hole at Furry Creek is outstanding!

Thanks very much for the details, Colby.
I will sort through it and decide before I leave.
