Doesn't anyone else think the sound it makes is odd for a tennis ball?

it sounds about right.... you usually hear a different sound coming of the ball when tennis players hit it because of the compression of the ball with the strings. The club will usually don't have some sort of recoil but tennis strings will have lots more

I've played tennis since the age of 4 and never heard a ball sound like this. Have you ever hit a ball against the wall of a school? Doesn't sound like this one bit. Tennis balls don't go "ping"...even when hit with a golf club.

I've played tennis since the age of 3 played competitive tennis until 18, also played at a Univ in the US. Coached 16 years high performance players... remember that he is hitting the ball of the ground so most likely he is hitting grass first and thats what you hear at the beginning of the impact plus the swoosh of the driver.. if you notice the sound of the ball when it hits the top of the tunnel it sound like a regular tennis ball hitting a wall... the balls look a bit bigger when he is setting up for his shot though...

You should try hitting a tennis ball with your driver see what sound you get...
