    Thumbs up Loch march

    Okay,

so I played LM for the first time yesterday morning, and I have to say- What a great facility!!!

Top notch service, great course, and just a super enjoyable morning.

I know it's a little pricey relative to some of the other tracks in the area, but IMHO its worth every penny.

I may be buying a lot of those costco gift cards in the future.

    What a treat!!!!

Probably my favorite public course in Ottawa. Tough tough course.

    really?

I'm not any good, so it might explain my perspective, but it seemed very playable.

good shots were rewarded ( I birdied one hole), and bad shots were penalized (I put up a HUGE number) on the first par 5, but only because i was knocking it all over the place.

I guess the elevation changes made it tougher on approaches, but other than that, I thought it was quite playable?

I wasn't playing the tips either...

I actually thought the conditions had gone a bit downhill since last year. Perhaps it's been the weather but I just thought it wasn't as nice as in previous years
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

They are putting a ton of money into it, redoing all the bunkers and building new tee decks. Since they brought Danielle in you can see the course is thriving not to just be a hobby but a business.

Next time you go take a minute to go see the intimidating view of #7 from the back tees. One of my favorite par 3 in the region.
Will I learn how to chip?

Is it walkable? Yes it is,we did it in 40 degree heat with humidex, but last couple of holes were draining.

It seems people in Ottawa do not want to pony up the $70+ to play golf, so I find LM nice to play at since there never seems to be many people there. It is one of my favourites in teh region.

I'm over 55 and walk Edelweiss, Gatineau, Champlain for example, but certainly not in 40 degrees, that's when I was younger lol. So what I mean't is .. is it very hilly, how would it compare to the courses mentionned. tks

There are definitely more elevation changes than Gatineau and Champlain. 6-9 are the toughest on the front nine and 16-18 are tough on the back.

You go uphill after finishing holes 6, 8, 9, 13, 16, 18. The rest are flat or downhill. It is not very hilly but it is good exercise for sure.

PLAYED 18 yesterday (tuesday) at LM with my dad and brother. 18 holes in 3h40 mins. It was great. Apparently there were 250 people who played on Monday, so Tuesday morning it was pretty quiet.

There were some rougher spots (in the rough), but I really like the course, and ended up making par on 3 of the last 4 holes. Had 4 bad holes, but also made 4 pars, with 2-3 good chances at birdie.

Anyway, at $70 with a cart it wasn't too bad pricewise either.

LM is definitely at the top of my list.

One of the finer courses in Ottawa Gatineau area. Beautifull layout and a good walk in any weather. Havent been there for a few years but will put on my list for sure.
