I played the course last Saturday. The greens and tee boxes were in good shape - the greens are never fast at Pineview but they seemed better than in past years. The fairways were dry but playable and the rough is mostly hardpan and dormant grass. The bunkers were like concrete. So overall not great but playable - considering the drought conditions this year my expectations were low.
I'm fairly certain the hole on their website main page is on the Executive Course, either 13 or 14. I haven't played in much but there are a few ponds on the Executive layout.

pineview conditions
It seems always a problem, also the price is high for the conditions

No way. It is some generic pic. There's water near the end of #13 and to the right on the short par 3 #14, but no long pond along the length of 2 fairways, capped with half a dozen sand traps, like that anywhere at Pineview. In fact, it looks like some kind of composite pic, as the guys under the "special" menu are lining up a putt and there's another green 20 yards to the left.

@guzman, Have they raised their prices this year?

I played there on monday. I've never been a fan of the course. Fairways were full of weeds and looked as if it hadn't be groomed in a long time. Barely able to distinguish between the fairway, rough, and once cart path. Yes, there was a drought, but that's no excuse for poor maintenance. Many other courses around the city maintain their fairways and tee boxes properly, the grass just becomes an ugly burnt brown which isn't so bad. The only reason I play there maybe twice a year is because it's location and good deal on mondays. Even at 20 bucks, I tend to regret going cheap and playing there.

Wonder what it will take to get the City of Ottawa and the NCC to get off their duffs and make a decision on the future of that course? I'm sure it is the first in line when budget cuts are considered. Gotta be a tough job running a golf course and not getting the funding to do, never mind a good job, just enough to keep it from folding. Funny thing there are lineups there like no other golf course I go to.

I know, eh? Don't know why they are losing money when they are pretty busy and green fees aren't that low. I hope the management gets things under control.
Played there Saturday and the yahoos were really out. I felt sorry for the 14 year old kid who was out trying to Marshal them.

Lineups because of location. If there was a decent course a few kilometeres away they would be out of business. Too bad City and NCC cannot make a simple decision. Outsource the whole thing!
