    Holing out on adjacent hole...

We were playing Equinelle this morning and on number 4 one of the guys i was playing with hit a massive slice that landed on the next green, it was about 1/2 inch from being in the jar. What would the ruling have been if it had gone in?

His ball would be lying on a wrong putting green and must take relief and drop within one club length of his nearest point of relief from the wrong putting green and not nearer to the hole he is playing. He could possibly be playing from the fringe or standing on the wrong putting green.

Misread the question. I thought he had then putted out.

    The correct answer is that
    a) he has interference from an immovable obstruction or GUR (a hole made by a greenkeeper)
and b) he is on a wrong green.

He may take relief from either.
If he takes relief from the WPG then the IO is irrelevant.
But he may take relief from the IO/GUR and then, assuming his ball finishes on the green, he must take relief from the WPG. If the hole is very close to the edge of the PG he may find that taking relief from the IO/GUR leaves his ball off the PG.
