Recommendations for a New Wood Shaft
At the present, i am looking for a new shaft for my Sonartec SS-03 14* 3 wood. I have a TaylorMade R7 driver, with the Fujikura Speeder TP shaft in it for a driver. I have been told that I should have a heavier shaft in the 3 wood than the driver, but that driver shaft is one of the heavier shafts on the market i believe. I swing the 3 wood quite aggressively, i would say about 110-115mph. I am a 1 handicap and am looking for a high quality shaft.
Lend your advise if you can,
thanks
dave

I'm a big fan of the Aldila NV / NVS right now.
I play the 65g versions in my woods, but they make they make them as heavy as 105 grams.

My choice would be the True Temper Crossfire. Being an agressive swinger myself, I've found out through experience that steel is more suited in my fairways.
I get just a bit more feel with the extra weight and a little more control over graphite. The Crossfire is lighter, by about 20 grams, than your normal TT shaft, so it weighs about the same as a heavy graphite, but it responds/feels just that much better when you go at it.When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.
