Recommendations for new grip
Hey All
I had Lambkin oversized Softwraps put on mid last season (played about 50 rounds on them) and in checking them I am noticing that there are a fair number of tears and separations (seams coming apart). Does anyone have a recommendation as to a replacement grip. I am looking for a wrap style (oversized), fairly soft. I am not looking for any definate brand of price range just a little more durable.
Thanks

I've always liked Golf Price Soffties and found them to be very durable. Played 50 rounds last year and they still look like new. You can also try the Golf Pride Player's Sofftie if you want a wrap style that is a little firmer. The only downside is they are very slippery in rainy weather.

I use Golf Pride Player Soffties and they have a great feel. But as El tigre mentioned when they get wet, they are slippery as are most wrap style grips IMO.

Ever tried those? 3m Reptile grips?

When used alone on a single surface, it provides a strong, secure grip even under wet conditions. When used as a two part system (Greptile™on Greptile™), grip strength is maximized. And yet, as firmly as 3M™ Greptile™ Gripping Material holds, it releases just as easily. When used as a system 3M™ Greptile™ Gripping Material offers a 260% improvement in gripping friction over traditional leather gloves on rubber grips in dry conditions, and a 300% improvement in wet conditions

New Grips
When I had my TaylorMade irons and woods re gripped I wanted a grip similiar to what was on them from the factory.
The guy who does my grips (Sure I should do it myself, by why bother when you can get 15 clubs done for $65 cash?) told me to put the Golf Pride Tour Velvet's on.
Told me to keep them clean with Simple Green and a brush, hose them off and air dry them.
300 rounds later, no tears, hardly any wear spots and I could play with them for the start of this season.
Now mind you, grip life all depends on how much you sweat, how hard you grip the club etc. So you can't go by my results.
But I sure like those Tour Velvets.Last edited by Golfbum; 03-29-2005 at 11:23 PM.

Another vote for the Sofftie....however I believe it may have been discontinued by Golf Pride. Their Player's Sofftie grip is still available though.
