Custom made clubs from Pembroke, Ont
So i have been looking for a new Iron set recently. I am very new to golf and when I bought my clubs at the beginning of the year I just bought some cheapies from GT. I just really do not like the way they feel. I mean it could just be that I still suck and should probably get lessons before anything else ( which is coming ) lol I have seen a few ads now for a place in Pembroke that make custom clubs. They are "clones" of top name brands. They say they are just as good if not better than the big name clubs. http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...AdIdZ383929839
They say they are made for you, so I'm guessing they take your measurements and what not to make a club better suited for you. My question is has anyone tried these out at all? Are they worth the $250 for irons? Something to think about? or stay away and get lessons and learn to hit my cheapies and get my swing down before investing anymore money?
Thanks in advance!

Problem with that is the fitting is done over the phone

I'd stay away from clones. Very cheaply made...inferior materials, tolerances and quality control. If you're going to get custom made clubs ie. components, stick to quality ones like, Golfworks, Wishon, KZG and the like.
Also for a proper fitting you need to do a dynamic one with the fitter. Static measurements won't cut it.[FONT=System][COLOR=DarkRed]

I would go see Don Irving at http://www.artisangolfco.com/
Don is very good at fitting and club making.Obviously you're not a golfer.

I'd stay away from clones. I actually know who is buliding them and while he is a great guy he does not have the experience and knowledge that you will find in Ottawa. There are a ton of guys on this forum that can do it and other businesses as well but it will be more than $250. This clones won't be much better than the cheapy set you have now. If you are getting lessons, wait until you at least have the proper foundation to make a good swing and then look into getting a set either made or buy a used set of OEM's and have them fit to your specs.
Save your cash.

That's what I figured. Its not the clubs that will make me a better golfer, its practice. I will be getting lessons soon because I can go hit buckets of balls all I want.. But if I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I cant fix it! Thanks alot guys!
