FoleyFest 2012 Tournament: Help support Gregg Foley

I'm sure most of you guys either know Gregg, or have heard good things about him both as a person, and as a golf pro. He's had some medical issues the last few years and it has all come to a head recently. A few guys have got together and are putting on a golf tournament to raise some money to help in his recovery.

I was about to post the same thing, but am glad to see others with the same thought in their head.

One thing to note here, is that as all of us know, golf pros make most of their money right now. During the regular season and especially im May and June. Gregg won't likely be able to teach till August (although I hope he returnsmuch sooner), so his livelihood is jeopardized by this illness.

On another note, I was wondering if the thread starter or a mod can add a bit more detail to the tile of this post as it does not necessairly pass on enough info. And I was also wondering if this thread is better suited in the general or local subforum.

Ok, here's the deal:

1. I don't know how to edit the title,
2. He does work out at Haime's; he's been with them for 10 or 11 years now
3. The point of the thread was more about a discussion about the tourney and to drum up interest for a local pro and active member of the ottawagolf forum; rather than to sell spots or advertise for sponsors
4. It was originally posted in the "Local Stuff" section of the site but it was moved from there to the "other Golf Ads" by a moderator

With all due respect to Greg and his situation, there are a great many worthy causes, and a great many tournaments to support them. I have no problem with these events promoting here, but such threads belong in the classifieds and the forum policy needs to be consistant for all.

Thanks for thinking of me guys. Just thought I would let everyone know that surgery went well. First couple of day were awful but recovery is getting better each day. I hope to see some OG golfers out at the event and there will be lots of great auction prizes and should be an overall great day.
