Blade Irons.
I want to buy any set of cheap left handed blade irons. As long as they are in playable condition I'm interested.
Also a 1 Iron. Just so I can say that I tried to hit one.Last edited by Bodey; 04-21-2012 at 01:24 PM. Reason: Clairfication

I have some dynacraft prophet irons. It's only 4-pw though and they have stiff graphite shafts and are 1/2 " longer than standard. I have a gw from another company that I could thrown in there as well.

Blades are nothing but total pain in butt to hit.
Every shot must be dead on or you are going to be frustrated.

As one who has tried virtually every iron set known to man and now plays 40 year old blade irons, I would have to disagree with that statement. However today's marketers of golf equipment have certainly done a fabulous job of convincing people that giant perimeter weighted iron heads are easier to hit. One day maybe I'll actually see some hacker get better with a set of shovels but it has not happened yet LOL!
The opinions expressed in this post are mine and may not necessarily reflect the opinions of others on OG.

I wonder about this a lot. I am a mid-high capper myself, and I have looked at a number of irons. I seem to gravitate to more midsized irons. I have played bh-5s, Bridgestone GC mids, Apex ftx, and now CG7 tours, and the tours ar as good or better than any of them (save for maybe the GCs- I love those irons).
I looked at getting some super game improvement clubs but they seem like I would really need to change my entire swing to accomodate them.
Now I do use hybrids in the long irons, but it seems to me that a good mixed set (hybrids, and mid-sized cavities transitioning to wedges) are a better solution than a full set of shovels. Using some of those bulky butted 9 irons I see at GT might be okay from the thick stuff, but it seems like it would be real tough from the short stuff.
Anyway, I am sure its just personal preferences, but I agree that marketing these wide soled irons as a fix for all high handicappers swings, is really not improving the game of most golfers.

Its not that I want to hit them... I got in a 'random' argument with a friend that I was a better golfer and he is only better due to club advancements, etc. Since RH blade sets are available in everyone's garage, I needed a set myself. Barring a Canada Post issue I have acquired a set (including the 1 iron).
I currently play Nike VR Half Cavity (or Mid Cavity or whatever they call them) and have never played pure blades or muscleback clubs. Its just as much for me to try as it is for my inane argument with a golfing buddy.
