Would anybody be able to tell me if you can use the TP weights in the regular R7 driver? If so, why would anybody buy the TP?

Yes, you can use TP weights in a retail head.The reason for the higher price for the TP is the upgraded Fujikura,or mitubishi rayon TP shafts,and the head itself is square at address instead of the 1-2*closed for the retail,and the TP has a higher C.O.G (centre of gravity) then the retail.Hope this helps.

The regular r7 doesn't come with the tp weights, obviously. To buy the kit of extra weights, it's around $200.
