Overlay ball tracer onto video
Hear me out. Just for fun, I'd like to make a short video at the range, but have the ball tracers like you see on ESPN.
An example at 14:30: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL_Q-...eature=related
Now, I'm wondering what this would take to accomplish.
- Most direct method is to just trace the ball on camera, but I think even an HD camera would not pick the ball up shortly after it launched.
- If I had the great measurements for ball speed, spin, LA, and all that good stuff, it seems that software could then simulate the ball flight and output a tracer (anyone know of any software that could do this?)
-This tracer (which i think should be a 3d object) should be able to be rotated to match the perspective of the camera.
I don't have a launch monitor but I am leaning toward foresight for the simulation aspect. If anyone has any ideas, lemme know.

This is usually done with the Trackman that will actually trace the ball flight. Foresight will not trace the actual flight so wind etc will not be picked up. I think the radar based outdoors Trackman, Flightscope or Zelocity ......(just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!) Seriously Trackman or Flightscope will be the way to go.
