If the conditions warrant full price, then why not pay it?
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Some of the courses are charging full rates but are also offering promos. At Nation you get a 2 for 1 for your next round. At Champlain they are offering your next round free (until the end of April). I'm pretty sure other courses are offering promos as well. So it's not necessarily full price.
And as jvincent said, if the course is in 'full price condition', then why not take advantage of the great early season conditions?

Played Smugglers yesterday. Amazing course, great service and a fair price. Greens were ok, not great.
I just love that track, but screwed up number 4 again trying to bite off too much......
I will return while the rates are so good.

just finished playing Meadows - South/West course....fairways are dry and greens are super slow but overall course is in great shape. South greens were a bit bumpy.
Think they are charging $40(including tax) on weekends and a bit cheaper during the weekday.

Opening day at Buckingham. Only 9 holes open, fairways dry, greens nice but slow and shaggy. Can only get better as season progresses. Other 9 holes to open on Wednesday.

Played Arnprior yesterday. Weather was beautiful, course was in alright shape although the greens were still plinko from being punched and on the longer side. Worth the $27 though, compared to some other courses charging full-pop.

I played Renfrew Saturday with forum legend Hoolio (who must've been practising on a simulator all winter) and (I think) theMatt. The greens were really smooth and no winter kill any where, although a little slow. The course is bone-dry with no wet spots anywhere. The 2 can ride for $69 promo is on. They are repairing the grub damage that hit the course pretty hard in October, thankfully it really only came into play on the 18th hole, and as I said, its being repaired. Now, if only they could repair my swing which seems to have rusted something awful since November.

Played Manderley March 25.
The conditions were very good actually. Only 2 wet fairways. We played North then South that day. Keep in mind it was March 25. It was 90 degrees cart rules in affect that day, but we walked. I would definitely play again. Fairways were drier than Prescott.
The North greens were in good shape, but, the South greens were in amazingly good shape, much faster than the North greens, but not as fast as Prescott greens. I played Prescott on March 18.
Tee boxes were in mid-season shape, only one tee box on the South was closed and all three blocks (blue, white and red) were setup on the front Ladies tees. We were playing the White tee boxes that day.
I shot a 91 and I was very pleased, my score was helped by my putting and the fact that the greens were rolling so true.
A lot of people don't seem to like Manderley but I think it's prety darn good for the money.Obviously you're not a golfer.

I like Manderley also Jonathan. We re-discovered it last fall and it was in great shape. Hope to get out there this season.

Any word on Metcalfe? They had some tough conditions last year and wondering how they survived the Winter. Thanks!

Played VM yesterday and today. Greens have been top-dressed and are much better than last week. They roll true. Fairways are dry, need-rain dry.

Outaouais opened Friday and it's pretty good. Only a couple of rough spots but the greens are really good. I couldnt believe this was spring golf. Course is entirely dry and in great shape.
