So one guy in the thread thus far does not think that slow play is a problem. I'd be interested to know whereabouts you play?

apparently that would be me, I haven't played a whole bunch in the last few years so maybe I don't notice slow play as much, because when I'm out there I'm just enjoying the day and the company i'm with. Mind you I do keep an eye out behind me to ensure that I'm not holding other groups up ect, and if a faster group catches us I've had no issues with waiting for them on the next tee to let them play through, or hitting our Tee shots and then if they show up let them hit their and play through.

Why should all golfers be entered into a handicap system? Lots of fast-pace players out there don't even keep score.

    - Because I'm a member at my course and know when to go and when to stay away if I don't want a slow round.

    d. Other - A kick in the pants. Some people just don't get it that they are 3 holes behind the group in front of them and causing the whole course to back-up. For a course like mine, the majority of slow play would be cured by an active marshal.

    - I've always walked so obviously that takes up the most time, but I've always been able to keep up with most riders.
