Thread: Flightscope X1 TBox

Hey Bubba,
As I was uploading the X1 and X2 to my online store, I came across the answer to your worm burner question right on FlightScope's website:
Useable Data - "Under the Radar"
FlightScope measures the entire ball flight, however not all the measured data is equally useable. FlightScope is true to science about data used and does not proclaim that all available data is useable. There is a term "below the radar" which comes from the fact that at certain angles, especially low to the ground, the tracking radar data becomes skewed and is not useable. Excluding the skewed data however does not affect the overall accuracy much at all. FlightScope reports data used and not data tracked.

Hey All,
So I got a replacement unit and am having the same problems as before. The tech support was not able to figure it out, so I am waiting for the developer to get back to me
On a positive note, I have finally setup an X1 (not X1Tbox) with E6 package. This is the system that Dick had purchased, so if anyone wants it, this is where to get it

Happy Golfing!

Strange Cory? So with the X1TBox replacement you are getting the same issues? Lack of sidespin?
-
06-27-2012 06:07 PM #64
Short answer yes, long answer it also has gotten to the point where I can't calibrate it in the interface - it just doesnt want to read putts (that is how they begin the calibration).
Thought maybe I was doing something wrong until the tech support did everything they could without any success.
Hope to get this resolved soon.

Hope so too! Are there others using the system with no issues?

From what I heard from Flightscope there seem to be customers with a working Tbox, but I don't have any first-hand knowledge of anyone.

Hey Guys,
Latest update...
We are making some headway - we found out that my projector's fan was causing 'environmental noise' which interfered with the radar. We now have the unit reading balls, but are still getting a '0' sidespin every other shot.
Still waiting for someone to get back to me on that one.
So far would not say that the TBox is ready (at least from my experience) on both product and support.
Hopefully we can figure this out before they come out with the next model LOL.

I checked with FlightScope again and they said that they have sold a few units, but they have not actively started to advertise it due to this problem.
Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with the problem and that they are not advertising it.
The current situation is that they beleive the problem is in the E6 software so they are working with TruGolf on that and will hopefully get back to me soon.

Sounds like it, looks like it Cory?
Suggest you don't jump until Cory gets his working.

Doesn't look like the Tbox at all. I didn't see any mention of where the unit is placed, if it can detect putts, and if it can even connect to a computer (looks like just apps).
I have an email into FlightScope to see what I can find out.

The Flightscope inventory is getting very, very confusing as to what they have! If we can't keep it straight, I pity the newbees.

At least ball position is represented as 0.8 % accurate. That is a good start.
Just needs setup specs and ability to connect to E6redchain/perfectparalel, remember this software will add serious $ as Flightscope also know tooo charge for software.

S/W FlightScope about the Xi avaiability. Will not be ready to ship till April of next year. The product goes behind the hitter and not behind the screen as with X1. They are sellingthe X1 at $6k and software is extra. More product information will be forecoming related to te Xi over the next couple months. This won't fit my needs...

The agent at FlightScope implied the Xi would need to be 8 ft behind the ball strke. Also the software for the device will be geared first toward a mobile devices such as the iphone/ipad or android. She said they expect to be introducing some of this software over the next few weeks. From the conversation i read it as though someone jumped the gun with the product anouncement since the release date would not be before April.
The agent would be glad to sell me the X1 if I was interested but the 6K price tag without software and a pool of limited customers todate scars me more than a little.

Today I received a email quote from FlightScope for the X1 Tbox. Of note the product has been pulled for now becasue of a software issue. It is expected the product will be avaiable again early next year.

bruthru,
Has the X1 (and presumably X2) been pulled, or just the X1 Tbox?

Sorry Asics.... that was the X1 Tbox that has been pulled. The X1 and X2 are still being sold and the rep tried to get me to go for one of those but the space I have to work with prohibits those being an option.

X1 Tbox pulled??? What was the software issue? Seems to me they couldn't get the spin issue solved. So is the Xi available? Flightscope needs to get their inventory better presented as one will lose confidence if products are introduced and then pulled as the X1Tbox has been.

Bubba neither the Xi nor X1 Tbox are avaiable for purchase at this time. The X1 Tbox will not be released till next April and here is the exact content provided with the sales quote for the X1 Tbox "The FlightScope X1-TBoxunit with E6 simulation software has been introduced, but is not currentlyavailable for purchase. We have discovered a bug and our engineering teamis working on it. This unit should be available for sale early next year".
